During Festival The World of Witte de With, Kunsthal Rotterdam offers visitors of the festival a tremendously exciting podcast tour. The podcast, suitable for MP3-player, PDA, iPod and mobile phone, was recorded by Willem de Ridder, the phenomenal story teller who is renowned for his VPRO radio plays. He takes the listeners along on an unusual walk through the Kunsthal and the surrounding Museum Park while inviting them to look at the building by world famous architect Rem Koolhaas in a completely new way.
Unconventional route
Via the podcast Willem de Ridder guides the listeners into another world, making them experience reality in a completely new way: upside down and backwards. He shows them that taking an unconventional route - not going over the bridge but instead going under - can result in new discoveries and exciting surprises. Willem de Ridder points out all the extraordinary aspects offered by the architecture of the Kunsthal and pays attention to details that are normally subconsciously taken for granted. The podcast opens doors to secret spots within the Kunsthal which have been closed to the public up to now and shows the ins and outs of the exhibition building which have thus far never been revealed. The Kunsthal plays along with the "There are boundaries!" theme of Festival The World of Witte de With, celebrating its tenth anniversary. The podcast stretches up the ‘observational scope' and explores both the boundaries of what is common or usual and the rules attached to the exhibition building.

The podcast is launched during Festival The World of Witte de With and can be downloaded from www.kunsthal.nl from Friday Spetember 11th onwards. The podcast is in English. Kunsthal is represented during Festival The World of Witte de With on the bridge between de Witte de Withstraat and the Museum Park where there is a distribution point for MP3 players that run the podcast. The tour can be made during the opening hours of the Kunsthal: Saturday from 10h00 am - 17h00 pm and on Sunday from 11h00 am - 17h00pm. After closing of Festival The World of Witte de With it is still possible to download the podcast from the website of the Kunsthal.
