The year 2016 was extraordinary as well as successful. The Kunsthal initiated, produced and presented its first traveling exhibition, ‘Peter Lindbergh. A Different Vision on Fashion Photography’, which had its world premiere in Rotterdam and subsequently travelled on to renowned museums abroad. Other highlights in 2016 included the ‘Museum of Everything’ with over a thousand artworks by ‘outsider artists’, the ‘All you can Art Summer School’, a large retrospective of Fernando Botero’s work, and the ‘Latin Life Sundays’. 

Together with its many familiar and new partners, the Kunsthal can look back on a dynamic year with over 200,000 visitors, high-contrast exhibitions, numerous events, unprecedented media attention and a 35% rise in new visitors. These successes were also realised thanks to our collaborations with artists, museums, partners, companies, funds and contributors who supported the Kunsthal in 2016. The Kunsthal as a ‘Palais des Festivals’ with a constant supply of new things to explore!
