On Tuesday 5 October, Kunsthal Rotterdam is organizing another edition of 'KunstKoppels' (ArtCouples). During KunstKoppels you will meet someone in the Kunsthal who is completely new and unknown to you. Someone from another generation, or with a different background or lifestyle. This edition is dedicated to the exhibition We Are Animals. After an introduction you will visit the exhibition as KunstKoppel, which focuses on the relationship between humans and animals. KunstKoppels is organized in cooperation with Rotterdam Heroes, a youth project of Unie Van Vrijwilligers Rotterdam (UVV). The main language during this event is Dutch.
Discover the animal kingdom of art with a stranger at We Are Animals. Sculptures of feathered polar bears, monumental paintings of cuddly cats and a floating elephant: extraordinary animal creations by over thirty contemporary artists come together at the Kunsthal. Works by Maurizio Cattelan, Candida Höfer, Paul McCarthy and David Shrigley, among others, demonstrate the relationship between humans and animals and show how we humans look at and try to understand ourselves through animals. A stimulating exhibition that will hold up a mirror to you and provide plenty of discussion material!
