On the stairs of the Auditorium in the Kunsthal, an imaginative landscape unfolds: a forest of colourful sculptures through which visitors are free to wander. Along the way, you discover curious viewing boxes and felt shapes that allow you to create your own sculpture for the fantasy forest.
The hut that was always there
At the centre of the fantasy forest stands a large hut that visitors can enter to read, play together, and take a moment to unwind. The hut that was always there finds its origins in the huts Teuntje Fleur built as a child. One of her most vivid memories is creating a world detached from reality for a while: a place where time felt different and where she could spend hours drawing and disappearing into her own imagination. In the hut, fantasy, relaxation, and togetherness take centre stage.
Teuntje Fleur
Teuntje Fleur is a graphic artist based in Rotterdam, known for her colourful visual language filled with playful shapes, patterns, and graphic compositions. In her work, she explores how colour, form, and imagination can connect with the inner child. With a distinct preference for primary colours, she creates dreamlike worlds in which circles, triangles, and squares come together in energetic and recognisable images. Her work invites visitors to look again, discover, and make space for imagination.
