Exhibition Iris van Herpen attracts 100,000 visitors in seven weeks
Nov. 17, 2025
In the first seven weeks after the opening of Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses, more than 100,000 people have visited Kunsthal Rotterdam. Responses from all age groups—through social media and visitor surveys—have been very positive, with visitors expressing great appreciation for the exhibition, which presents over a hundred iconic creations by the pioneering designer Iris van Herpen.
During the opening weekend, Iris van Herpen herself was present at Kunsthal for several public programme events, including an Artist Talk, which sold out within ten minutes. The talk can be watched again via the Kunsthal YouTube channel. In collaboration with partner Nationale-Nederlanden, a special opening breakfast was organised. At the festive red carpet opening, held in cooperation with Vogue, numerous VIPs walked the red carpet in spectacular Iris van Herpen creations, together with the designer herself.

Evening Openings Friday Night LIVE
At Kunsthal, every third Friday of the month you can enjoy all exhibitions until 22:00, along with a stimulating and inspiring evening programme. With Friday Night LIVE, Kunsthal hands over the key and offers a stage to a Rotterdam-based partner who is active in film, spoken word, dance, music, fashion, and theatre. Due to the wide variety of partners, each edition is unique: the only thing that is certain is that you will be surprised. During the exhibition Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses, the public can visit Kunsthal until 22:00 on Friday 21 November (Pretty Girls Like Trap Music), 19 December (De Wasserij), 16 January (Paardenrave), and 20 February (Fashion in Flux). Tickets can be booked via kunsthal.nl/live.
Collaboration
The exhibition is organised by Kunsthal Rotterdam in close cooperation with the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, and Maison Iris van Herpen, based on the original version of the exhibition from the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
