'Fancy Some Friction, Honey?' 33 years of Cokkie Snoei's gallery

For over thirty years, Rotterdam gallerist Cokkie Snoei played an important role in the city’s artistic climate. Kunsthal Rotterdam presents the work of 33 artists personally selected by Cokkie Snoei and represented by her gallery. According to Cokkie, art should be funny, bizarre, perhaps even ugly, but never boring or predictable!

On the occasion of the opening, collector Peter Haasbroek will shed his light on Cokkie and her gallery. Artist Julia Kiryanova and her performers will lead the audience to the exhibition.

Drawn: Rotterdam! Urban Jungle

Every year, the Rotterdam City Archive and CBK Rotterdam go in search of artists who are able to observe the city and transform their reflections into drawings: the city artists. This year Xaviera Altena, Johan Kleinjan, and Nuno Orlando have been given the task to portray the tensions between the city ’s urbanised and natural habitats. From Saturday 14 October Kunsthal Rotterdam will be showing the end results in the exhibition ‘Drawn: Rotterdam! Urban Jungle'.
