On Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 March everything at the Kunsthal will be centred around the exhibition In the Black Fantastic. Enter a world at the intersection of reality and fantasy, and discover works by eleven contemporary artists from the African Diaspora. On Saturday, you can experience an in-depth programme featuring performances, talks, and tours. And Sunday will be Kunsthal FAMILYday, during which everyone can immerse themselves in stories and participate in many workshops.
Programme Saturday 4 march
Start off your Saturday with a Sound Experience by Bruno Sitton. Take place in the Auditorium, meditate and enjoy a moment to yourself. Participate in tastemaker tours of the exhibition In the Black Fantastic by Pink Oculus and Yootha Wong-Loi-Sing, or join the Beyoncéology Talk by Munganyende Hélène Christelle . Pink Oculus will conclude the programme on Saturday with a musical performance. Drop by and let yourself be inspired!

Sound Experience door Bruno Sitton
12:00 - 12:45 hrs
Inspired by the work of Tabitha Rezaire in the exhibition In the Black Fantastic, Bruno Sitton will present a Sound Experience in the Auditorium. In a critical way, Rezaire’s video installations link the wounds of the colonial past, such as racism, to questions of health, spirituality, sexuality, and technology. Take place on one of the cushions in the Auditorium and participate in this meditative experience. Engage in a spot of ‘Healing & Unfolding the Soul’ prior to your visit to the exhibition In the Black Fantastic!

Playshop Gil the Grid / Amenti
13:30 - 14:00 hrs
This workshop is based on the movement method developed by Gil the Grid (Amenti). The Amenti MoveMeant Method teaches you to become aware of internal process by means of the body, especially zooming in on emotions, behaviour, thoughts, and the choices we make. This Playshop is a shorter version of the regular workshop and mainly focuses on being physically active and forging a connection with the other participants in a playful and cheerful way. Ages 18 and upwards.

Performance by Pink Oculus and Tastemaker Tours
Pink Oculus is the alter-ego of the Amsterdam singer/producer Esperanza Denswil. As an experimental hip-hop/soul/jazz artist she captivates her audience with an innovative mix of raps, vocals, melodies and hypnotizing beats. On Saturday 4 March she will not only give a performance in the Kunsthal Auditorium, but also take visitors on a Tastemaker Tour of the exhibition In the Black Fantastic. On this day, the actress Yootha Wong-Loi-Sing will also guide a Tastemaker Tour and share her personal perspective on In the Black Fantastic. Taking the exhibition as their point of departure, these tours focus on the personal stories and perspective of the Tastemaker in question.

Beyoncéology Talk
14:30 - 15:00 hrs
Munganyende Hélène Christelle is a writer and political scholar who is also involved in performance art. She is seen as an important feminist and literary voice of her generation. ' ‘Vreemd Fruit’ (Strange Fruit) is the title of Munganyende's debut novel, which will be released by Pluim Publishers later this year. Munganyende teaches Beyoncéology at the ArtEZ University of the Arts, a field of study she developed herself. This curriculum researches the contributions of Black women to popular culture, and interprets political phenomenon on the basis of the pop culture of their respective generations. During the Kunsthal Weekend, Munganyende will give a talk on Beyoncéology.
Collage Workshop
Ongoing between 13.00 -and 17.00 hrs
On Saturday you can set to work with the multidisciplinary artist Mandy Franca. During the workshop you can use pictures and a range of lavish materials to create your own imaginative collage. Franca’s method involves ‘thinking-through-making’, which will result in a relaxed, creative flow.

Sunday is KunsthalFAMILY day and everyone can join in! Join family tours through In the Black Fantastic. Settle down in the Auditorium for Mylo's Musical Picture Book. Writer and illustrator Mylo Freeman will read from Princess Arabella and the Giant Cake, interspersed with songs inspired by the children's books. Sing, clap and listen along! Or get to work in the KunsthalLAB. Artist Camille de Bruin is here to help you with inspiring assignments.

Muziekworkshop
During this workshop the Rotterdam artist Rass King will help children make their own music. Connecting different movements to different figures will result in a variety of rhythmic patterns. During this interactive workshop, children can compose their own music and express their creativity.
