A survey of the development of Russian photography with works from one of the largest private collections, ranging from Rodchenko's pioneering avant-garde to social realism. Constructivist shots and reports are displayed alongside propaganda photographs.

Topics such as industrialisation, the collectivisation of agriculture, architecture, politics, the development of new cities, parades and demonstrations, preparations for war and World War II present a comprehensive picture of the far-reaching consequences of Communism in the Soviet Union.
