Nick Cave at the Venice Biennale 2026
May 5, 2026
From Saturday 9 May, work by artist Nick Cave will be on view at the Venice Biennale 2026 (until 22 November). In autumn 2028, Kunsthal Rotterdam will present a major solo exhibition of his work, in close collaboration with the artist.
The American artist works across sculpture, installation, video, sound and performance. His iconic Soundsuits – wearable sculptures that conceal race, class and gender – are central to a practice in which, for more than three decades, he has translated urgent social issues into visually powerful and layered works.
Solo exhibition at Kunsthal Rotterdam
In autumn 2028, Kunsthal Rotterdam will present a major solo exhibition by Nick Cave. The exhibition is being realised in close collaboration with the artist and Jack Shainman Gallery, and will showcase his spatial installations in the Kunsthal’s largest hall.
Marianne Splint, Director of Kunsthal Rotterdam: “Nick Cave has a unique ability to make pressing social issues tangible through visually powerful and poetic work. We look forward to presenting his work extensively at the Kunsthal in 2028.”
