The Think Tank ‘Site and Situation’: What is going on here? will take place on Thursday 25 July. During this Think Tank, All you can Art will draw maximal inspiration from the neighbourhoods in South Rotterdam. What are the problems and successes, what is going on where, and what role can All you can Art play there? Everyone is welcome to join for thinking, listening and talking!
We look back on the experiences of the past weeks and explore the possibilities for the future. The All you can Art locations in South Rotterdam are places where local residents can gain inspiration, but vice versa the bustling neighbourhood is also an ongoing stimulus for the artists. Unusual encounters take place here that in turn provide impulses for locally committed projects and site-specific art. The Think Tank will examine the interaction between artist and context as well as tackling the question ‘What is going on here?’ from a variety of perspectives.
Wider Perspectives
Alexandre Furtado, curator of Gemaal op Zuid, will be present at the Think Tank in connection with the project ‘Wider Perspectives’. For this project, a different artist gets to work in Gemaal op Zuid every two months and creates new work here, using the white wall as a canvas and South Rotterdam as input. The artists David Bade, Vesuhely Americaan and Rieneke de Vries are the next in the series. They will present their vision on the theme of propaganda and the role of image manipulation.
