Christmas holidays 2025
20 December, 2025 - 4 January, 2026
Experience the Kunsthal this Christmas holiday! On Monday 22 and 29 December, the Kunsthal will be open on two extra days. Step into the universe of fashion designer Iris van Herpen, get inside the mind of absurdist artist David Shrigley, and be surprised by everything else the Kunsthal has to offer. There’s plenty to do this holiday season, so drop by for a generous dose of inspiration and fun. And good to know: young visitors up to 18 years old get in for free!

Look&Do Tour David Shrigley (6-12 years)
Every day
In the exhibition David Shrigley: What the Hell Was I Thinking? you’ll find a free Look&Do booklet waiting for you. It’s filled with funny – and sometimes wonderfully weird – activities, just like Shrigley’s art. Draw a panicked dog, invent the most useless award ever, or give your best friend an imaginary tattoo. With the Look&Do booklet, you experience the exhibition your own way. Pick up a copy at the entrance and start your adventure!

Draw David Shrigley's Life Model
Every day
In the exhibition What the Hell Was I Thinking? one of Shrigley’s Life Models is waiting to be drawn. His models are intentionally oddly proportioned and sometimes move unexpectedly, so no one has to worry about “getting it right.” Just sit down, look, and draw it in your own way. It doesn’t have to be perfect, in fact, it can be wonderfully weird!

Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses
This Christmas holiday, you can also dive into the world of Iris van Herpen. Her spectacular designs – at the intersection of fashion, art, and technology – are a visual feast for all ages. The sculptural shapes, unusual materials, and almost otherworldly creations spark the imagination of both adults and young visitors alike. It’s an inspiring exhibition for anyone who loves to be amazed. Read more here
