Mask Workshop by Rik Versteeg
28 August, 2022 14:00 - 15:00
On Sunday, August 28, join artist Rik Versteeg's workshop to work with the exhibition 'Claude Cahun. Under the Skin' as an inspiration. Learn more about identity, making a mask and how to use it to show who you are.
WHAT
Claude Cahun found herself in the circles of Parisian experimental theater groups in the 1920s. We see this in her self-portraits in which she often photographs herself wearing masks. Thus, Cahun takes on many different roles in the portraits, from worldly dandy, Buddha, sailor, man, woman, androgynous and everything in between. In this workshop queer visual artist Rik Versteeg will work with you to show who you are by using self-made masks. What does your mask look like and which side of yourself do you show?
