In Scagliola's foto's vallen de strakke beeldcomposities op, die worden gecombineerd met speelse, soms bijna theatrale elementen. Daria Scagliola werd in 1962 in Tanzania geboren en woont in Rotterdam. Haar foto's verschijnen sinds 1987 regelmatig in o.a. NRC Handelsblad en Opzij. Hoewel haar architectuurfoto's het meest bekend zijn, typeert zij zichzelf als documentair fotografe.
