In the exhibition ‘I'm going to write children's books when I grow up', photographer and filmmaker Johan Kramer, together with his daughter Lila Shu, examines how she can become a children's author.

Together they visit well-known Dutch writers of children's literature including Yvonne Jagtenberg, Tosca Menten and Annet Huizing, Lila armed with pen and paper, and Johan with a camera.

To coincide with the Dutch Children's Book Week 2015, the Kunsthal is showing the results of their field research; inspiring and motivational stories about authors, all accompanied by photographs. The exhibition encourages children to use their imagination and start writing themselves. A magazine for younger visitors has been made and includes interviews and fun writing activities. Workshops will also be organised during the autumn school holidays.
